This blog was created with the sole purpose
of providing you with some simple as well as complex dishes from all over the
world but mainly from the different states of India. I plan to cover a vast majority of regions and
this will probably take me years and years to accomplish because of Indian’s
rich cultural heritage and extensive varieties of food. If you have ever been on a long
train journey in India you will notice how the geography, language, attires and
food change at each stop. In North India you'll find tea sellers with their little kettles of cardamom laced sweet tea calling out to you for refreshment and the more you travel south it changes from tea to coffee.
Over the years living in the US, a lot of
friends have asked me to host cooking classes so they can learn how to make
Indian food and I have managed to do a couple but somehow with everyone’s busy schedules it has not been deemed
possible. This is my way of bringing the cooking classes to the comfort of your
own homes with a step-by-step guide. You don’t have to be an expert cook to make any
of these, just pick your comfort level and go with the flow. There will be a vast variety from
the simplest under 30 minutes to the more complex recipes. I will put together a list of some basic Indian ingredients (you can get them at any Indian grocery store or Whole Foods) so you can stock some of them in your pantry.
So let the learning begin. I will bring you a little taste of India each week. Stay tuned for some delicious food from the coast of Malabar next week.
